Trevor Vanderveen | Pastor
My wife Julia and I have 3 sons and have been co-pastoring at First CRC for 9 years. Our church is blessed with people from different generations and various ethnicities and I love journeying with them. I'm particularly excited about making connections between people in our church and in our Trout Lake neighbourhood.
Trixie Ling | Community Connections Coordinator
I currently serve as the Community Connections Coordinator where I oversee our weekly Wednesday meals at Community Night, coordinate East Van Talks, and serve as a bridge between our church and our neighbours.
Yvonne Bennik | Worship and Children's Ministries Director
As Children's Ministries Director, I facilitate a safe environment of inspiring learning for our kids as well as encourage our entire congregation in valuing and being involved in children's worship and discipleship.
Carlos and Carmen Martinez | Custodians
Originally from Chile, we came to First CRC in the 90's from the invite of "Mr. Ron" Donkersloot who was principal of Vancouver Christian School where we still work. We have been married over 50 years and we love our family--our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren. We work to keep the church clean and tidy. When everyone does their part, it makes it a lot easier.
Ashita Singh | Sunday Superstar
I immigrated to Canada from India and I came to First CRC in 2002. I currently work as a leasing representative but on Sunday mornings I prepare our church building for the worship services --arranging parking signs, unlocking doors, stocking the pews and attending to any other detail that needs doing.
Anne Duifhuis | Congregational Administrative Assistant
As Congregational Administrative Assistant, I prepare the bulletin and First Glance, and perform other administrative tasks that help to keep things running smoothly around the church.

Dena Nicolai | Chaplain and Refugee Support Mobilizer (CRSM)
I am currently completing a thesis for my MA in Theological Studies at Regent College and am originally from Edmonton, Alberta. Prior to moving to Vancouver I lived for four years in the Middle East, based in Cairo, Egypt, where my work included organizing and facilitating numerous interfaith and intercultural dialogue events between North American university students and people from various countries across the Middle East. My time in Cairo also involved volunteer work with two different refugee organizations. In my position as Chaplain and Refugee Support Mobilizer, I seek to offer a ministry of presence for refugees new to Canada, and provide a bridge between churches in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley and newcomers. I am grateful for the financial and other support for this position from grants and offerings from churches across BC.
